Second Life for PET

Plastic waste has spread all over the world and its components can be found everywhere. Up to 13 million tonnes of plastic are washed into the oceans every single year. The aim of the Online company is to reduce the mountains of waste and create sustainable products. The raw material of the “2nd LIFE PET Fountain Pen” comes from recycling discarded PET bottles, drinking cups and the like, so that such plastic is given a second life and the environment is protected. The robust iridium nib and the ergonomic soft-touch grip ensure that users can enjoy a relaxed writing experience,

Sustainable writing and highlighting

The environmentally friendly “edding EcoLine” range is one of 28 nominees for the German Ecodesign 2020 Award. Ninety per cent of the plastic parts of the permanent, whiteboard and flipchart markers in the EcoLine range are made from recycled material, with the greater part of it being post-consumer recycled plastic, for example from the rubbish gathered by the dual system of waste collection. More than 90% of the highlighter’s cap and barrel comes from renewable raw materials, which is why it is the only marker pen that has been awarded the Blue Angel. All the products are refillable and all the packaging is made entirely of cardboard, mostly recycled one. Due to its sustainable properties, the EcoLine range has also been awarded the Green Brand Germany three times.

Stylish recycled paper for the school

Today’s products are at their best when their design is pleasing to the eye and the item does something good for the environment. The “Save me by PAGNA” is a school assortment made of recycled paper in the trendy colours of mint and fuchsia, printed in one colour with a zebra or panda image – as a reference to endangered animals and the sustainable use of natural resources. Folders, ring binders, stationery boxes, notebooks and a clipboard are complemented by accessories such as a neck pouch, soft, naturally coloured cotton pencil cases and a wooden ruler.

Native durable wood

For 120 years, e+m Holzprodukte has specialised in processing wood and offers a wide range of writing instruments and desk accessories. The three-piece “Trio” set, made of the solid native woods of walnut and sycamore maple with traditional German craftsmanship, was nominated for the German Sustainability Award 2021 in the Design category. The three holders in the set can be set up in any way the user wishes and the wood develops a unique patina over time, thus ensuring a long service life.

Climate protection and resource efficiency demand modern solutions and even small products can make a major contribution to protecting our environment and conserving our limited fossil resources.
